Rock salt deposited on the UK`s roads is
said to be killing trees. It was last reported
by Cornell University in the early
90`s that road side trees such as maples
and oaks were worst effected in late Autumn
and early spring when the trees are not
completely dormant. |

It was recommended that local highway authorities
switch over to using sand or ash during
these periods . Today they still use
salt. Trees are still suffering and dieing. |
